Monster smut!

Ethan, Jaunt, Edina in flagrante
A drawing I made for the ComicFury Hookup Crossover Exchange featuring my characters Ethan and Edina Shirtley from Abúi's Travels and Jaunt from Those Unknowable: The Shadows Over Innsmouth. I read that comic from beginning to its latest update before starting the drawing, settling on the idea of a threesome with at least the suggestion of a power exchange. This sort of image is well outside my artistic comfort zone, and that is by itself a good reason to try drawing it, and to do it again, hopefully soon. There is a drawing of Adrienne with Siom from Catihorn by Catihorn creator Epiale as well.

Those Unknowable: The Shadows over Innsmouth is, as it turns out, an excellent comic that brings the Lovecraftian universe to life and adds some new things to it. I get a tickle out of how good a boss Jaunt is to his fishpeople fighters, defying the traditional stereotype of the Big Bad as an abusive, violent asshole to his subordinates. The art is pretty strong as well - very disciplined and on-model with detailed backgrounds.
Happy New Year! Have some fan art!
by Reinder Dijkhuis
Happy New year, everyone! I hope you had a good New Year's Eve. As for me, I ate, drank and made merry; now I'm in recovery finding some easy things to do while my head clears. So I just realized that I had a piece of fan art sitting on my hard drive that I've never posted.

Maximum Nudity Force by The Cosmic Beholder
Here's Maximum Nudity Force, named after a deviantArt group I started early last year and closed some time after as I was unable to give it the time it needed to be a healthy group. Abúi is shown along with Wakatonka from Spun Off. The other characters are Kaza and Gwenna from Kaza's Mate, Gwenna, Captain Evening from Tales to Behold, Mixtli as created by Tulio on DeviantArt and the open-source character Jenny Everywhere. The character of Jenny Everywhere is available for use by anyone, with only one condition: This paragraph must be included in any publication involving Jenny Everywhere, that others might use this property as they wish. All rights reversed. Art by The Cosmic Beholder.

Cameo Caper 2014

As you may know, the Death Comes to Tyrion storyline was created to fit an adventure of one of my characters into the Halloween Cameo Caper for 2012. The Cameo Caper is an annual webcomics event in which characters from different webcomics mingle at a set location and on Halloween, the creators post a big page including cameo appearances by multiple characters from the Caper on their own webcomics sites. It's been held every year since 2006. Aggie took part in 2011. I took part in 2012, but what with work and the slow pace of my production (I'm working on it), I, er, got behind.

The Caper is by now a minor webcomics tradition. But for the past few years, it's had a bit of a problem. See, the guy running it, Hogan, has a similar workload to mine, and so when it came to running the forums where sign-up and preparations are done, he couldn't handle the daily influx of spam or babysitting and updating the forum daily. So the forum now handles new registrations on the basis of "email me first", which makes adding new members a slow and cumbersome process. The result: year on year, we keep seeing the same faces in the Cameo, and as veteran cartoonists drop out, they aren't replaced. We need some new people to join in the fun!

This year, we're trying something different. Hogan, Aggie and I, among others, will be hanging out at the IRC site, channel #webcomics while working on our comics. If you are interested in taking part in the Caper, let us know!

My own participation this year will be limited to making characters available for use, and maybe a short section like the image from Aggie above.

I do, however, have two partially inked Abúi's Travels pages in the pipeline, and about five more storyboarded out.
