History's lamest pick-up lines.
Lanz: So what's a hot chick like you doing in a dump like this?
Abúi: Hey, I think this place is pretty impressive. We don't have train stations where I come from.
Lanz: Er, OK, so... are you doing anything tonight?
Abúi: Solving a murder, I hope. Isn't that what we're all here for?
Lanz: Well, when this is all over, maybe we could go somewhere for drinks?
Abúi: Nah, I'm sure there'll be other things to do.
Aggie: Zwzwzwzw.
Abúi: Oh. You know you could just have asked. Answer's no, though. Not attracted to humans. Sorry.

Color work by Aggie Janicot, who is currently revamping her old comic American Gothic Daily (which has not been daily for a while).

The guy who is trying to chat Abúi up, and failing badly, is Lanz from the sprite comic D.D.S.R.. Also visible: Brunhilde and Gertrude, and a Squirrel commander, from The KAMics, and the Runner from Karabear Comics Unlimited. You can see what happens next at page 104 of the Halloween Cameo Caper 2012 — at least until the present Abúi's Travels pages get inserted into the archives there and the numbering changes again.

So is it the lack of pointy ears, wings and/or tattoos?

Yeah, mostly. Round ears and flat shoulderblades don't do it for her.

So maybe Fox still has a chance? Boring shoulder blades, but he's go the pointy ears, and the tail might mitigate some wing disappointment? ^.^

Guess I better hold off updating the Webcomic Hub for the Caper until after you are finished? :)

And Aggie once again defuses the situation with a handy interpretion! :D

Actually, I'd prefer it if you updated the hub as soon as feasible, so I won't forget to update comments like this one after you're done.
